Trimaran Snorkel Tours
AM Snorkel Tour
This is one of our favorites. Awesome sailing trimaran with room to move around, fun loving crew and great snorkeling to top it off. This trip leaves from small, picturesque Keauhou Bay, which happens to be the birthplace of King Kamehameha the Third. So many travellers miss out on this tiny gem off the beaten path. After a scenic sail down the coast you’ll snorkel at the beautiful reef in the shadow of the Captain Cook monument (Which is in our opinion the best snorkeling in the state.) Hop back on the boat and have a delicious lunch then head to another private snorkel location that most tours won’t take you to. (Ocean conditions permitting of course.) After that sail back to Keauhou Bay and grab a cold one at the Green Flash Cafe while you watch the boats come in and out of the bay and talk story about all the fish you saw!
Why we love the AM snorkel tour:
Awesome crew, 2 snorkel spots, they usually drag lines behind the boat so you may even get to help reel in a good size fish. Too many positives to name! If you are having trouble deciding this is our go to choice.
This is a great tour if you’re on a little bit of a budget or just happen to have some free time in the afternoon. This will also get you to the Captain Cook monument at an off hour which means a lot less people snorkeling. Occasionally you’ll be on the only boat in the bay, which is definitely a treat. You’ll set sail from Keauhou Bay in the afternoon, head straight to Kealakekua Bay (home of the Captain Cook Monument) for an hour long snorkel and head back. Snacks and beverages are included as well as snorkel gear.
Why we love the PM snorkel tour:
Quick and easy. A great way to snorkel in Kealakekua Bay if you’re sticking to a budget or on a bit of a time crunch. Also it’s the least crowded time of day at the Captain Cook monument.
